Job Overview

Learning4Life-Gy are looking to recruit a enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant, with experience of working with learners with complex needs, to join our growing school and dedicated team. The successful candidate will support our learners on group or a 1:1 basis.

This role is 27.5 hrs per week and is term-time only.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in lesson planning and preparation
  • Deliver tailored teaching activities to individual learners or small groups
  • Provide one-to-one support to learners who require additional help
  • Facilitate group activities
  • Use instructional materials and technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Listen to learners read and read to them
  • Support teachers in managing challenging learner behaviour and promoting positive behaviour in a positive learning environment
  • Support the social and emotional development of learners, reporting any issues where necessary
  • Develop and implement personal learning plans or interventions
  • Provide extra support and encouragement to learners who are struggling academically, socially or emotionally
  • Monitor learner progress and assess their learning outcomes
  • Collaborate with teachers, trusted adults and external support services to address learners’ individual needs effectively.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, grading, and organising educational resources
  • Prepare classroom material and resources for lessons and activities
  • Manage classroom equipment and technology, ensuring they are in working order.
  • Support teachers with paperwork, documentation, and other responsibilities.
  • Provide personal care where required as part of the support role, in alignment with Learning4life-GY’s Personal Care Policy.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level.
