School Meals

14-16 Learners

At Learning4Life-Gy, we are proud to offer free school meals for our 14-16 year-old students, ensuring that every student has access to nutritious and satisfying food options throughout the school day. Our meals are sourced from a local shop, providing a variety of fresh and delicious choices that cater to all tastes and dietary needs. From hearty sandwiches and hot foods like sausage rolls, burgers, and chips, to inclusive vegan and vegetarian options, we are committed to providing a balanced and inclusive menu. Our initiative not only supports the well-being of our students but also strengthens our connection with the local community, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and local business partnerships.

16+ Learners

We uphold the belief that access to food is a fundamental right for all our students, regardless of age or program. While our 16+ learners are not eligible for the free school meals program, we ensure that no student goes hungry by providing a variety of complimentary snacks and beverages. Our offerings include crisps, assorted snacks, toast, as well as milk, coffee, and tea bags, available to any learner who might need them throughout the school day. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to support the well-being and success of every student, creating an inclusive and caring environment where all can thrive. Additionally, we are exploring avenues to further assist our students, including bursary options for those who may qualify, with more information provided below.

Bursary

In addition to the above, we recognise the particular financial challenges some of our students may face. To support our learners in overcoming these challenges, we offer a bursary of up to £20 per week for those who meet certain criteria. This bursary is aimed at students in defined vulnerable groups, including those in care, care leavers, students financially supporting themselves or dependents, and those receiving disability benefits. Our goal is to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder any student’s ability to continue their education and participate fully in school life.

To apply for this bursary, eligible students can fill out an online application form available below:
