Learning Support Assistant [Closed]

About the Position:

Learning4Life-Gy are looking for a driven and committed individual to join our valued team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role is one of our most important in enabling learners to engage effectively in their education and is rewarding in every way!

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible and resilient LSA, with experience of working with learners with complex needs, to join our growing school. The successful candidate will support learners on a 1:1 or small group basis across our learner cohort.

37 hours per week, 12 months fixed term contract. £11.50 per hour. Term Time Only.

Job Specification:

• To support learners with complex needs through carrying out a detailed initial assessment
• To lead on complex Safeguarding issues, utilising available resources, attending meetings and signposting where necessary
• Supervise and support learners from a range of contracts/initiatives within the post-holder’s designated environments
• Develops and maintains induction systems and procedures for new and existing learners.
• Schedules, manages and delivers the supervision of the learners in work-placement and in-house addressing any learning objectives with the learner, contributing to the ILP
• Assists learners to overcome barriers to learning, including personal issues
• Assists with organisation and delivery of the programme as and when required
• Maintain accurate records relating to learner progress and attendance utilising appropriate systems
• Works from a joint-working, information sharing and skills sharing perspective to ensure a best quality service for the learner and employer
• Has a clear focus on the key priorities for Learning4life-GY and the impact an individual’s work can make on whichever priority[ies] are covered by their service area
• Provides on-going support and information to develop best practice and benefit to learners and employers
• Provide personal Care where required a part of the support role, in alignment with Learning4life-GY’s Personal Care Policy.
• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level.
