ADUlt Learning
Our Adult ESOL Programme is for learners who are developing their English language skills in order to support entry into employment and integration into the English culture. Unlike alternative Functional Skills English courses, our ESOL course is delivered using the specific teaching, learning and assessment techniques for those with English as a second language.
qualifications
All learners will work towards the completion of a NOCN Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life through the completion of the following qualifications:
• Speaking and Listening
• Reading
• Writing
The level of qualification will be dependent upon the outcome of stringent diagnostic and initial assessments. The ESOL Skills for Life programme is currently offered at Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3, and Full Levels 1 and 2.

Pop into our school reception and ask for an Adult ESOL registration form. This form takes only a few minutes to complete, and can be filled in with the help of our receptionists.

Once your application has been received by our Adult ESOL teachers, you will be invited in for an initial assessment to determine your level and the most appropriate course for you.
03.
Your will be offered a start date on your selected course, and you will start learning with Learning4Life-GY!

ESOL Skills for Life
Our ESOL Skills for Life course covers English Language skills in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening. The course delivery uses the specific teaching, learning and assessment techniques for those with English as a second language.
Mathematics (Multiply)
Funded by the Local Authority under the Multiply initiative, our ESOL mathematics delivery is tailored to help learners build their numeracy skills by learning the key English terminology used in maths exam questions to make these qualifications more accessible.
Health and Social Care
With the support of CarePlus, we are currently offering a Health and Social Care course tailored for ESOL learners. This course is ideal for those seeking careers in the care sector, and with guidance from our Employability Support Officer, can help learners access careers within the NHS.
