Learning4Life-Gy is a community interest organisation that works to support people of the ages from 14-19 from differents backgrounds and brings them together to inspire a sense of community in all it does. The mission is to provide access to education, and understanding, that they may not get in mainstream education.
Purpose
- To secure continuous improvement through support and challenge on performance.
- Secure and sustain a Good Ofsted.
- Create and maintain a sustainable financial position for the organisation.
- Support and advise on the development of effective management controls in the business.
- Support the Directors in achievement of the Strategic Objectives of the business.
Role
- To support the development of a vision/mission for the business and ensure continuous alignment with this.
- Maintain a high-level overview of the structure of the service.
- Support and Challenge Management in relation to the continuous improvement of the Service.
- Support and Challenge Management in relation to the continuous improvement of the Service.
- Implement self-assessment of the Board’s function for its effectiveness annually.
Operation
- The Board will support the Directors in supporting the business and holding it to account.
- The Board will meet at six periods throughout the year although this may be reviewed and altered subject to the agreement of the board.
- The Scrutiny Board will have a Chair and Vice Chair.
- A written record of all Scrutiny Board meetings will be made and circulated to all Board members.
- An agenda and supporting papers will be circulated at least one week prior to any Scrutiny Board meeting.
- The Scrutiny Board may co-opt additional members as required with the agreement of a majority of the Board.
- In the event of absence, a Scrutiny Board meeting will be quorate if at least three members of the Scrutiny Board are present (including at least one member who is not a Learning4life-GY Employee).
