They are warning us that there are only 12 years for global warming to be kept to a maximum of 1.5C. Beyond which even half a degree will significantly worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for millions of people.
This shift in temperature will have a devastating effect on low-lying areas because of the increased risk of floods and for coastal cities. This could trigger the migration of millions of people away from areas that become uninhabitable. The Humber is one of those low-lying areas.
